Money Talks Workshops & Events
Ditch the discomfort of talking about your finances! Money Talks initiatives aim to break down the stigma and begin a healthy conversation on campus about student finances. Whether you’re a youth in grade school or a UAlberta PhD student, we offer workshops, group sessions, personal advising, and more for all students. We can help you gain a better understanding of your unique financial situation, and give you the tools you need to make it work for you.
Money Talks: Workshop Series
This series of workshops explores how you currently spend and how you'd like to spend, while providing you with tools, tips and activities to make it happen. Everyone makes financial missteps, but these workshops can help you get on the right track to making better decisions in the future. There's something for everyone!
All workshops are free and last approximately 1.5 hours. Workshops are held throughout Fall and Winter terms.
Money Talks workshops have been adapted from a program originally created by University of Alberta Students' Union.
- Navigating Your Quarter-Life (Financial) Crisis
April 4, 2 p.m. |
Congratulations! You've finished your degree, or you've almost finished it. Or, maybe you're nowhere near finishing, but you're nervous about what happens after. Either way, join us for a discussion about some of the major financial milestones you may encounter after you've finished your degree, such as first pay cheque, managing student debt, or renting vs. owning a home. While this session is most applicable for graduating students, all students are welcome.
Money Talks: Student Loans 101 Workshop
Student Loans 101 Workshops help you navigate the student loan system. Attendees will apply for their Alberta Student Loan during the workshop!
Please note that these workshops are specifically for those eligible to apply for Alberta Student Loans, which means you must be an Alberta resident. If you are not sure if you're an Alberta resident, see Student Loans. If you require further information or assistance, please contact Student Connect.
Please check back for more information about the 2017 workshop.
