Financial Assistance

Various options are available for student financial assistance.

• University of Alberta Scholarships and Awards–over $25 million in undergraduate scholarships each year.

• University Bursaries and Emergency Funding (UBEF) – financial aid programs for undergraduate and graduate students that include supplementary bursaries and emergency student loans.

• Student Financial Aid Information Centre (SFAIC) – a Students' Union initiative providing: help completing application forms for government student loans; information on budgeting, debt control and financial management; ACCESS Fund bursaries.

International Students

The University of Alberta International Centre administers an International Student Emergency Loan Fund and an Emergency Bursary Fund to assist students caught in emergency situations. See the U of A International Centre website for details.
